General information

IWDMP 2000 was the first scientific meeting organized by the

Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion (IPPLM), Warsaw, Poland, in cooperation with the International Center for Dense Magnetized Plasmas (ICDMP), established at under auspices of UNESCO. The co-organizers of this workshop were the Andrzej Soltan Institute for Nuclear Studies (IPJ), UNESCO International Centre of Dense Magnetised Plasmas (ICDMP) and the Plasma Physics Section, Committee of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences.

IWDMP2000 was held in Kudowa Zdroj (a small resort-city at the Czech-Polish border) on October 12-14, 2000.

A scientific program of IWDMP 2000 covered a wide scope of research, ranging from theory and basic studies to applications.

Topics of scientific program

  1. Theoretical analysis of Z-pinch discharges,
  2. Theoretical analysis of various phases of PF-type discharges,
  3. Experimental facilities for Z-pinch and/or PF-type studies,
  4. Development of diagnostic methods for Z-pinch and PF experiments,
  5. Results of recent Z-pinch and PF experiments,
  6. Applications of Z-pinch and/or PF devices.
